Healthy Balanced Life
How can you live gluten and lactose-free life?
What can we do if we have gluten or lactose intolerance?
I am neither a doctor nor a dietician. My name is Maria Kauer. I am a mother, wife, carer, and Swedish massage therapist, and I live with gluten sensitivity and lactose intolerance. These disorders have become part of my life. It is a great passion of mine to help others. So I started this blog to share what I have learned from others and any information that people can use to live more satisfying lives.

WAO statistics
One study by The World Allergy Organisation (WAO) says the estimate of allergy prevalence of the whole population by country ranges between 10 – 40%. Allergy is a prevalent ailment, affecting more than 20% of the people of most developed countries (Pawankar Ruby et al., 2013). This study tells about every type of allergy or almost every kind of allergy.
Allergy (include food allergies as well) is the most common chronic disease in Europe.
Allergy (include food allergies as well) is the most common chronic disease in Europe according to this study.
“It is estimated that between 1-10% of adults and children have a food hypersensitivity. However, as many as 20% of the population experience some reactions to foods which make them believe they do have a food hypersensitivity.” (The Association of UK Dietitians (BDA), 2015)
Symptoms of Gluten Sensitivity
Each case is different. If you suffer from gluten sensitivity, the primary symptoms may include:
- diarrhea, stomach-ache,
- headache and joint pain,
- nausea and fatigue.
For example, in my case, I generally had problems with my pregnancies. Consequently, doctors investigated and performed a lot of tests. Afterwards, they diagnosed me with gluten sensitivity and several other allergies that also could have an effect on my fertility.
I learned about the types of lactose intolerance and gluten sensitivity. I studied how I need to accept them. Over time, this has become easier as more and more studies are addressing this topic. Therefore, I’ve tried every diet whit the potential to make my life easier and happier.
Everybody Has Secrets…
Improperly treated gastrointestinal diseases caused many problems for me every day. Therefore, I rearranged my life in order to lead a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
A healthy soul does not only need proper nutrition. A happy, bright, fit spirit includes wearing fancy, lovely dresses and having well-groomed hair, for instance. Over and above this, hydrated hands and manicured nails are essential, as well. So, can we agree that there is no balanced everyday life without a healthy soul?
Avoiding gluten and lactose could succeed.
I know what it feels like to be helpless. But sometimes it’s enough to try an exceptional recipe for a new dish. And it’s good to have a little chat or just read about your problems. Then, suddenly the energy of life comes back to the body. Such is human nature. Luckily, the body is able to adapt to the world, to the environment, to different challenges.
By writing this blog, I am so glad that I can share my ideas and experiences. I hope is that I can help others.
